My friend Greg and I have discussed the “post-chicken” alternative of pigeon meat, surely to come with a bird flu pandemic, several times. It’s a hot issue, because as we all know, you can catch swine flu from eating pork, and you can probably catch bird flu from eating chicken. Even though this [...] Political correctness continues to move closer to the critical mass it needs, to develop into a complete collapse of our social structures. As a father of four children, nobody considers the protection of a newborn baby’s rights more paramount than I, but this case shows how detached medical professionals, and the culture of bureaucracy [...] I never thought I would see the day when I was compelled to blog the same style of story twice in a row, but here we are again. I just could not resist this story as well. Here we have another instance of a public official acting in an abusive, power tripping manner. [...] This story represents precisely what the Internet should be heralded for. It wasn’t invented for porn, or spreading viruses, or Nigerian letter scams, or even, for Twittering. The internet was designed to allow for the exchange of information, and ideas, even in the event of a nuclear catastrophe. Most of us geeks have played enough video games, seen enough movies, and maybe logged many hours on Microsoft Flight Simulator, to understand the basic mechanics of flight. It cost a fortune, but it was also before the first tech bubble burst. It has come to be expected in the case of just about every President, but with Obama, who is seen to be more “negotiable” with radical Muslims, there may be a case to be made that the extremists have an interest [...] Extreme sheep herding competitions are not a new thing, but these sheep ranchers and their dogs bring it to a new level. The key is the expertly trained dogs, who manipulate the sheep, at every command. I am not sure if this would qualify as animal cruelty, although I doubt it, as sheep ranchers tend [...] |
